Sports Day Celebration for our Evening Study Centre students at SPPD

“Dance is your pulse, heartbeat, your breathing. It is the rhythm of your life. It is the expression in time and movement, in happiness, joy, sadness and envy”. True to it, Some of the children who had not participated in the sports events had their chance to express themselves in this traditional dance at SPPD sports day celebrations.




Exposure visit – Observe & learn

Our Evening Study Center students from 23 centres, which covers the rural areas of Musiri, Trichy District, who have not had the opportunity to a city atmosphere, were taken on an educational tour to Anna Science Center (Planetarium), Trichy which had delivered valuable source of information on solar system. They enjoyed watching the 3D films about the solar systems and galaxy, which was a different experience to them altogether.


Sports day celebration

Sports day was conducted for our Evening Study Center (ESCs) students at SPPD Community Center. Various sports events were organized and the winners of each event were honoured with trophies and certificates by the Chief Guest of the function.2

Evening study center visit from JHC

We were pleased to have Charity Manager, Mr. Jon Crouch from Joe Homan Charity (UK) at our Evening Study Centers, which are supported by them since 2005. He interacted with the students to develop a better understanding of the activities that are carried out in the centers.

Field trips give students a welcome break in the routine.

Advisory committee meeting

Advisory committee meeting was held in almost all the Happy Schools (Evening Study Centers). With the support of JHC, each centre was provided with sports materials for the benefit of the students. The schools where are ESCs are functioning were presented with tree saplings and steel racks as a token of love for the valuable support extended by them.

We were happy to host Mr.Terence Quadling Volunteer from JHC to access the students at our Evening Study Center


Volunteer visit to our ESC

Ms.Patricia, Volunteer from Ireland was at our premises to help and coach our students in English. She also visited the students at Periyavelaganatham Evening study center


Activities extended to two more Evening Study Centres

After a month’s vacation our Evening Study Centres (ESC) started off its regular activities with full zeal from June 2013. We are glad to note that we have extended our ECS in TWO new villages. Students received the gift of promise pack which consists of basic school essentials such as school bag, notebooks, uniform and stationery.
